After many kilometers and numerous evenings in which Cala himself recounted his adventure, now the time has come to share the complete documentary, 15 minutes with the protagonist "chasing the Snowleopard".

The story

Carlalberto 'Cala' Cimenti is a mountaineer and traveler who, tired of his Himalayan experiences, decided to dedicate himself to new horizons by pursuing the Snowleopard honor awarded to those who reach the summit of all five mountains above 7,000 m in the territory of the former Soviet Union.

The project is based on a great desire to climb and ski but above all to share experiences with unknown cultures and establish new friendships that only high altitudes can consolidate.

After two years and four peaks since his first trip, Cala is on the eve of the expedition to Communism Peak that could crown him the first Italian Snowleopard.

The Production

Pillow Lab wanted to photograph the eve of Cala's departure for the last expedition dedicated to the project, trying to analyze the years of efforts, adventures and encounters made along the way.

What emerges is a human mountaineering made of adventure, sacrifice and away from the spotlight, which saw Cala as a protagonist also engaged in the profession of "cameraman" - all the images during the expedition, in fact, were taken by him.

The Alpine Result

On August 19th at 11:17 am Carlalberto 'Cala' Cimenti successfully reached the summit of Communism Peak, thus becoming the first Italian in history to receive the Snowleopard award and the first in the world to descend from this peak on skis.
