Ferrino is ready to set off with the guys from Va' Sentiero to discover the Sentiero Italia, the longest trek in the world on the highlands of our country.
Yuri Basilicò, Sara Furlanetto and Giacomo Riccobono, in love with the Italian mountains and the treasures they hold, will walk the Sentiero Italia, the longest trek in the world, starting on May 1st from Muggia (Trieste). They will move on foot for over 6,000 km, crossing the Alps and Apennines, touching all 20 Italian regions (from Friuli-Venezia Giulia to Sardinia) and over 350 mountain villages.
THE PHILOSOPHY
It is not a sporting feat, but rather a social initiative, based on the idea of sharing: an adventure told through the internet and social media, an experience that aims to be a window onto the Italian highlands: the landscapes, the faces, the traditions, the dishes, the trades, the dialects...
Anyone will be able to join the expedition for a short stretch, witnessing first-hand the centrality of the mountain and the importance of a sustainable approach to the environment.
A collective experience, respecting the places to relaunch the inestimable naturalistic and environmental heritage of our country: "thanks to our journey, we want to make the Sentiero Italia known especially to our peers, all over the world, and give voice to the high lands, wonderful places yet often forgotten, depopulated, abandoned to themselves. 2019 is the National Year of Slow Tourism: the right time!" declared Yuri Basilicò (31), creator of Va' Sentiero.
THE PARTNERSHIP
Sharing a passion for the mountains, sustainable travel, the spirit of exploration and the curiosity to discover the Sentiero Italia step by step, Ferrino has chosen to support the 3 boys in this new adventure by providing them with backpacks, tents and sleeping bags essential for the realization of their project.
Travel and exploration based on the concept of responsible tourism and sustainability are the key values that the company loves to spread and support.
"It is a pleasure for Ferrino to accompany the Va' Sentiero on this journey along a historic route of our country. The idea of promoting a trek like the Sentiero Italia is in line with what we have been doing for several years with the Greatest Italian Treks project focused on some of the most evocative and lesser-known treks in Italy to promote the landscape and environmental beauties closely linked to the culture of the territory, telling the story of the Italian identity that distinguishes these places"
Anna Ferrino (CEO Ferrino)
THE DEPARTURE
On April 27, the boys from Va' Sentiero will be guests of the Mujalonga Sul Mar, a national athletics event for adults and children in the suggestive setting of Muggia (Trieste).
Ferrino in collaboration with the Edelweiss store in Opincina (TS) will be present with its own stand to present the most important novelties of the new collection ranging from trail running to trekking, from camping to the world of exploration.
THE EVENTS
Along the Va' Sentiero route, some high-altitude events will be organised in collaboration with some mountain refuges: artistic performances and astronomical observation with Ziel optical equipment in the company of renowned science communicators.
During these events, real base camps will also be set up by Ferrino that will host participants for a night at high altitude under the stars.
THE EQUIPMENT
Ferrino as official partner will provide our trekkers with the necessary equipment to face this long journey up and down the high lands.
Here are some of the Ferrino products that will accompany Va' Sentiero on this adventure:
