ABOUT
Gnaro's mountaineering career began with numerous Alpine climbs, especially on Monte Rosa where he made first repeats and traced new routes. In 1981 he became an Alpine guide. His first experiences outside Europe came in the mid-eighties, when he began to frequent the mountains of South and North America. With the arrival of the nineties his attention then shifted to the great Himalayan giants, those to which his name will remain forever linked. Mondinelli is in fact the second Italian, after Reinhold Messner from Alto Adige, to complete the ascent of the 14 eight-thousanders without using oxygen tanks.

Strong mountaineer and generous man Gnaro has always put himself on the line to help and rescue other mountaineers in difficulty, as well as to offer valid support to the Sherpa population. In fact, the Lombard mountaineer has undertaken numerous charitable activities.
