ABOUT
Explorer, Writer, Columnist and Documentalist.

Carla Monnosi Perrotti, a Milanese resident in San Felice (Segrate), has made her passion for sport and travel her profession, dedicating her entire life to exploring the wildest places on the five continents, reporting evocative testimonies through her continuous activity as a photographer, documentary maker, columnist and writer.

Granddaughter of Raimondo Bucher, the first world record holder for freediving, Carla has practiced many sports and achieved good results at a competitive level in skiing and athletics; she is also an assistant diving instructor, but she is known for being the first woman to cross vast desert areas, 5 of 4 continents, on foot, alone.
HIGHLIGHTS
HIGHLIGHTS
Many of Carla Perrotti’s adventures are recounted and documented in two books published by Corbaccio. The first, “Deserti”, has reached its 9th edition, while the second, “Silenzi di Sabbia”, was published in 2007. Both books have also been published in Germany in the National Geographic series.

In 2011, his third book, “Lo sguardo oltre le dune” was published, written with Fabio Pasinetti, a blind man with whom he crossed the Egyptian Desert and winner of the Contardo Ferrini Literary Prize in 2012.

His greatest aspiration, after years spent travelling to the most remote and wild areas of the planet, remains that of making the desert known to people.
